Code Of Conduct For Participants
As a member of Rushmoor AGC you are expected to abide by the following club rules:
- Encourage your child to learn the rules and participate with them.
- Arrive on time and wait with your child until the class begins.
- Do not let your child on ANY of the apparatus whilst waiting for the session to start. They may sit on the blue floor area.
- Always ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the activity (see Attire section above) and has plenty of water to drink.
- Do not let your child come to gym if they are sick, especially if it’s a bug.
- Keep the club informed if your child is ill or unable to attend sessions.
- Parents are welcome to watch training sessions however we encourage you to watch from the balcony at Farnborough. You should encourage your child to stay with their coach throughout the session. It is important that your child learns to look to their coach for feed back, praise and where necessary berating.
- Always collect your child promptly at the end of a session FROM THE GYM if your child is under 10 years. Children over 10 years may walk to reception on their own if we have a parent or guardian’s written permission.
- Endeavour to establish good communications with the club, coaches and officials for the benefit of all.
- Ensure all contact information we hold is up-to-date.
- Do not attempt to teach your child any skills at home, this can lead to injury and learning skills incorrectly. If you would like more information on things your child can do at home please speak to their coach who’d be happy to advise you.
- Please pay any fees for training or events promptly.
- Help your child recognise good performance not just results.
- Never force your child to take part in sport.
- Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.
- Never punish or belittle a child for poor performance or making mistakes.
- Use correct and proper language at all times
- Discourage challenging / arguing with officials
- Publicly accept officials’ judgements
- Set a good example by recognising good sportsmanship and applauding the good performance of all.
